The main purpose of Crystal Reports is for designing reports. It is certainly capable of viewing and exporting the reports also but it is all done manually. Easy View has tools to view, export and email the reports both manually and automatically.
A basic version of Crystal Reports cost about $200 while Easy View costs $39. Most people only need to run reports not design them. Ideally 1 person in the company will have a full copy of Crystal Reports for design purposes and everyone else can use Easy View.
Easy View can run reports from Crystal Reports 2008 and earlier.
